Background Dilemma

E

When taking professional pictures for corporate use , We stress the importance of a 18% Grey card. This helps you out a great deal when trying to achieve a pure, crisp white or jet black background. This is something you should have if you would like to take pictures of an object to sell on eBay or even for a portrait shot. It gives great photo exposure. Your picture is that much more eye catching when your background is beautifully exposed. Nothing is worst than a black background turning grey. the reason this happens is because your camera automatically adjusts on the fly. Sometimes your camera will see problems that don't really exist. The white backdrop confuses the camera sensors as if it is over exposed so now your camera will fail to give you what you are trying to achieve. You will end up with a underexposed light. The camera really has a hard time differinciating the lighting so using the grey card will calabrate the light meter for the perfect exposure. Focus on the grey card and then shoot. This will save so much time with retouching.
